Fashion and Design

I have done posts in the past comparing fashion with home design.

I find it interesting to see how the rooms within our homes are decorated in similar colors and styles to what we enjoy wearing; it's like enveloping ourselves in our own personal space  throughout the day.

Do you find similarities between the colors and styles you surround yourself in within your home in comparison to the fashions and colors you feel best in?

Decor Showcase of Decorating Styles

Just because it's been a loooong while . . .

I see so many different styles of decorating.
I personally enjoy a blend of styles.  I love the look of white and cream rooms; throw in a dark piece of furniture and I am drooling!

I also enjoy warm rooms with rich deep colors with furniture that beckons one to cuddle up.

I feel alive in rooms with light airy color that speak summer fresh.

I don't really know what my style is.  Whatever works, I guess.  Whatever speaks to my heart and fills my soul . . .

Enjoy these photos of gracious decorating.

Window Treatments . . .

I did a consult for a client last month.  They are making some changes in their dinning room.  In the process they are looking for window treatment ideas for their
bay window/window seat.

They would like the top portion open for light while at the same time desiring to have the bottom covered for privacy.

Here are some great ideas!

It may be Spring, but here in northern PA., March is going out like a lion!

To warm you up, here are some amazing looking rooms!!

I have always loved the contrast of dark woods mixed with white!

This is fresh and pleasing and I love the mix of textures.

Cottage Cute

Spring reminds me of simple pleasures, walks in the garden, ice tea on the back porch and sipping wine by candle light on the deck.

Today, I am sharing a few cottage moments, that remind me of what it means to just slow down.

Let in the Light

Do you prefer having your bed in front of your window(s)
or
do you prefer to have your bed on a blank wall?

In all honesty, I never wanted my bed blocking any window.  To me this made no sense but, as I have come to learn sometimes it is ok.  I have actually come to like the look in more recent years.

I have lived in so many different homes and styles that I soon realized that sometimes you just don't have a whole lot of choice.

In our current home, our room is fairly small and in order to have change (which I love to do!), I had to learn to be flexible in where I place the bed.

It seems recently over the last couple of years, I have enjoyed having it both ways.  In the winter, I tend to place our bed in front of one of our two windows, this allows for a warm and cozy effect.  Once I feel spring approaching, I
re-arrange the bedroom so that our bed is on the only blank/solid wall in our room.  This allows us to see out both windows from the comfort of our bed.

How about you?  Do you change your bedroom arrangement according to the seasons?

These are images of our room taken a couple of years ago.
The first is arranged for spring/summer and the above is arranged for
winter.

Here are some amazing rooms . . .

What's Going On??!!!!

Well Happy New Year!  I know I am a little delayed on wising this but, my New Year was spent taking my mom to the ER.  Needless to say our New Year did not start out so new.

But, I am happy to report that all is well and now I am ready get Moving!!!!

Just before Christmas, I met with a client that is preparing for a kitchen renovation and one of my all time favorite clients also contacted me for some assistance in getting her family room where it needs to be.

At this time all I have are Before pictures but at least you will know what I have been doing in between my real life.

Sorry, but when I tried to access my pictures, the link will not allow me to access my personal pictures . . .so I have nothing to share.
Has this happen to anyone else?  And how do I get around it??
I never had this issue before.

My 2013

This is the last post for this year!

I gave up making and trying to keep New years Resolutions because I came the realization that a "New Start" can and should begin at any moment in our life.

I am however; because January marks the month I began my "New" walk, with my Savior, using it as a time to reflect and set "New" spiritual goals for myself.

So much happened in this last year, I cannot even imagine things being any better but, I am sure they will be!

So while many of you will be planning new home projects, ways of becoming more physically healthy and planning ideas for next Christmas, I on the other hand will be . . .

setting my focus on my spiritual growth by becoming more obedient and more trusting in my God.

I have a beautiful new journal just waiting for me to write my first entry of 2013.

Each day, I will write a thanks, a blessing or miracle given to me by God.

My New Year's line up is already filling in with some amazing praises with the addition of new clients, new studies and a
"New Attitude!"

So while many will be working on their earthly homes, I will be working on my home in the Kingdom.

Happy New Year to All and may Each of You be truly blessed in the Year to come.
