This comes as no surprise, gray has been on the scene for some time and it is being used more and more.
This neutral color is easy to work with. All by itself or with a punch of color gray makes for a great back drop or main accent. Gray can be easily mixed with combinations of white, black and other grays or with color. Gray ranges from almost white to charcoal.
When mixed with other grays, blacks and whites it creates a clean, sleek modern/contemporary look. Using gray as a backdrop for more vibrant pops of color creates a more whimsy, eclectic look. Gray is also beautiful with soft pastel colors to create a soft serene feeling with just a hint of color; keeping the palette from becoming overpowered with color while enhancing it's backdrop.

What is your favorite neutral?
Hi, I found you at my friend scrappypinkcorner. You have got great taste. I wish you would come and decorate my house here in Rome, I have no creativity at all. I am following you so that maybe I can learn something.
ReplyDeleteSuch a great post and I loved all those images. It isn't what I would want but the first image with the pale aqua was probably my favorite. I would probably go with the splashes of yellow but then again what would you expect from a woman who names her blog BeColorful? Thanks for sharing this on my Motivated Monday.
