Chairs

These two chairs were given to me by a friend, who no longer wanted them.  She asked if I wanted or could use them and before I could yes, I had visualized them in three different places in my home.
My first thought was to re-paint them and use one in my foyer and place the other in my dinning room.  My second thought was to paint them black and pair them with a desk that I have had for many years and create a game/puzzle table in the family room and my third idea was to re-paint them and use them in my office, where I have been patiently waiting for two chairs that coordinated one for my desk and one for client use and or the computer table.

I went back and forth between idea two and three for a long while.  It was after my yard sale adventure at Lake Latonka, where I came upon these beautiful chair cushions, that I knew they would look great in my office.  My office it would be!  Well they have been waiting since August to get a re-haul and here recently, I finally pulled out all stops and here they are!

The cushions:

Love the colors and pattern in these cushions!

These are the two chairs that I had been using.  I really like the looks and the feel of the chair that I was using for my desk, but again I wanted two that coordinated better together.  (SHHHHHHHH the Assistant is sleeping)

My computer chair (isn't she a beauty)

And here they are!

I'm not sure how old these chairs are, but the fact that there was straw used in the last layer indicates that they have been around for a long while . . .

The layers: fabric, old dry vinyl, burlap, matting, straw, burlap again and springs!

The Assistant approves.

I also re-upholstered them.  This allows for extra padding and if I get tired of the cushions, I am good!
